Miracle fruit parties or "Flavor Tripping" is quite the rage right now. It started recently in New York City and quickly spread out from there. Flavor Tripping

Our family did a test one morning after receiving our first pack of Mysterious (miracle fruit) tablets.

After letting them disolve in our mouths for about two minutes. we sampled:

Spanish Onion slices, Lemon slices, Carrots, Broccoli, Strawberries, Red, Yellow and Green Peppers, Shallots, Oreo Cookies, Mountain Dew Soda, Nicorette Gum, Sugar Cookies, Frito's Corn Chips

The consensus of the group (three generations from age 13 to age 68) was:

Onions were good, no bite and almost sweet. Lemons were sweet, like a really good lemonade. Carrots are very, very good. Broccoli did not tase good in that there was not much change. Strawberries were like the ripest ever tasted. Just like off the plant. We did not have enough of them. Peppers were very sweet to some and just ok to others. Shallots were very sweet, almost sugary.

Oreo cookies were too sweet. They were left on the table and that is unheard of with our group.

Soda pop was tasted by the brave and partly full cans were left on table, again unheard of.

Nicorette Gum was tested by a member trying to quit smoking. It made the gum taste really good and sweet. BUT IT MADE CIGARETTES TASTE REALLY BAD!!!!!

Frito's tasted like Bugles (a sweet chip).

Questions asked of group:

1. Would you buy it again? 80% yes, 10% maybe, 10% probably not. The lower percents were younger and like to save their money.

2. Would you buy it again for? 50% yes it was fun and I would do it with my friends. 40% Yes for a number of reasons: quitting smoking, keep from eating sugar, eat more vegetables and fruit, things tasted better. 10% probably not, unless needed for health reason.
